NAIROBI INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION ON THE REMOVAL WRECKS, 2007

Nairobi International Convention on the Removal Wrecks entered into force on April 14, 2015 and applies to all the vessels (including fishing vessels and commercial yachts) of 300 GT or above. For entry into ports and territorial waters of the State Parties to the Convention these vessels are required to carry evidence of insurance or other financial security to cover the cost to wreck removal.

For today Nairobi Convention has been ratified by Albania, Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Bulgaria, China, Congo, Cook Islands, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Iran, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malaysia, Malta, Marshall Islands, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Niue, Palau, Panama, Romania, Saint Kitts and Nevis, South Africa, Switzerland, Tonga, Tuvalu, United Kingdom.

The Comoros Maritime Administration completed ratification of the Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, 2007.

Our representative office of the Maritime Administration of the Comoros in Ukraine is fully authorized to issue all registration documents regarding the registration of ships and yachts under the flag of the Comoros, as well as the issuance of a Certificate in accordance with the Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, 2007.

Documents required to obtain a WRC certificate from the Comoros:

  • Blue Card issued to the address of Comoros Administration: National Agency of Maritime Affair (ANAM), The Government of Union of Comoros, Same Building of The Ministry of Transport, BP 97 Moroni, Union of Comoros
  • Copy of the Ship Registration Certificate
The WRC Certificate is issued within 24 hours after confirmation of payment, you are provided with a copy, on the same day the original of the certificate issued by us is sent to the address indicated by you.
 
We can assist you with the issue of Wreck Removal Certificates (WRC Certificates) from State Parties to the Nairobi Convention for vessels flying a Flag of a non-State Party.
